Where can I get low calorie foods?

Where can I get low calorie foods?

So you want to eat healthy but aren't sure where to go?  Below are a list of foods and places to buy them.  Enjoy!

Believe it or not you don't have to buy very expensive "brand" name foods to eat healthy.  Superstore offers a very large variety of healthy choices with their Presidents Choice Blue Menu.  With anything you eat of course, read the nutritional information to ensure it fits within your specific weight loss plan.  This link will show you what they have available (some may not be available in our area)

Every once in a while I need a little something-something or I'll go crazy!  Kraft Canada has come to our rescue with their Thinsations brand foods that are all under a 100 calories ( WW P3pts).  They have a large variety of goodies (see link below), but you really have to hunt this city down to find the ones you want.  No worries I did the hunting for us and I found that Sobey's is one of the best places to get the yummies and Walmart Supercenter.  I have a mountain of these!  I should also note that I discovered that Kraft Canada really has a great site with all sorts of tips.  Check out the second link, you wont be sorry.

I have mentioned this next site before in the "Links" section, but most importantly where is the best place to buy Smart Ones Weight Watchers foods?  So before you skip this part because you aren't on the WW plan, these foods are actually low in fat, high in  fiber and low in calories so they will fit with any weight loss plan you are on.  I found through my extensive research that one must be careful where we get these foods as there are two types: Canada and USA foods.  The funny thing is the Canadian variety are higher in points and calories!  Why I don't know but what I can tell you is NEVER buy these foods from Sobeys as they only carry the Canadian products.  The best selection I found was shared between two places, Walmart and Superstore. I trek to both places to get what I want.

So you like the salty stuff? No problem!  Frito Lay has you covered with the 100 calorie bags of chips.  They are really delish!  They also have a popcorn product called Smart Food which is so wonderful and full of fiber, so it's good for you :)  I like Walmart of these products as they tend to carry most if not all of their items listed on the website (see below link).

Quaker Oat products also have some healthy snacks and breakfasts.  Walmart and Superstore have a nice variety of their products.

And finally if you crave chocolate...no problem!  I eat chocolate almost everyday!   There are a wide variety of 100 calorie or less chocolates out there. I like Sobey's and Walmart for their varieties they carry.

These above are just a few to start with to help us along this path of healthy choices.  If any of you have any tips or other websites to add please let me know.
